Why you should design with older users in mind

December 15th, 2008 by Catherine BircherNo Comments »

Sonar6 has made a name for itself as one of the most accessible and user friendly performance review systems available - but that didn’t happen by chance. We spend a huge amount of time researching and refining our interface, and with an audience as diverse as ours, that’s something we can’t afford to get wrong.

We’ve moved!

front door clouds

Well, we finally did it. After playing Sardines for a couple of years, we’ve moved to a bigger office space – we’ve now got room to swing whole families of cats!

Sonar6’s Head Office is now at 23a Union Street, Freemans Bay Auckland; an invigorating 5 minute walk from our old offices and right by the Wellington Street on-ramp. We’re still getting everything set up and stored away (and figuring out where to put the Wii), but if you’re in the neighbourhood, drop in and say hi!

Congratulations to the team from tapware manufacturer Methven for winning this year’s award, and to the Highly Commended AuCom Electronics and phil&teds on their recognition. It was of course an honour to make it to the finals, and we appreciated the opportunity to practice our gracious loser faces!

Sonar6 was visited last week by America’s Cup sailor Ray Davies. Ray was the strategist onboard Team New Zealand as they won the Louis Vuitton Cup and challenged for the America’s Cup off Valencia last year. He talked to our development team and our HQ sales and marketing team about the similarities between winning yacht races and running a startup technology company…
